MARKHAM, Ont. – The family of Canadian entrepreneur and businessman Gordon Stollery says he died Monday at the age of 64
The family says he died while on vacation in the British Virgin Islands.
Born into a family of entrepreneurs; Stollery established his own careers in energy, horse breeding, golf course management and real estate.
Stollery played principal roles in a number of energy companies including Highpine Oil & Gas Ltd., Morrison Petroleum Ltd., Northstar Energy Corp., OGY Petroleum Ltd., Valiant Petroleum, Daylight Energy Ltd. and Canada Fluorspar Inc.
Stollery also ran his family’s Angus Glen Farm in Markham, Ont., which bred thoroughbred horses that won a number of stakes races.
He also directed the development of Angus Glen Golf Club, also in Markham, which opened in 1995.
Stollery is survived by his wife, Judy, seven daughters and three grandsons.
The family says additional details, including funeral arrangements, will be released as they become available.
